During a first aid course, to perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, you would first ensure the person is lying on their back on a flat surface. Then, you would tilt their head back slightly to open the airway. Pinch the person's nose closed and place your mouth over their mouth, creating a seal. Give two breaths, each lasting about one second, and watch for the chest to rise. Repeat this process until help arrives or the person starts breathing on their own. **
